Matthew 6:27 - Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

If what you want to change can’t be changed, then change what you want.
Jesus very directly teaches about the utter nonsense and futility of worrying. Why should we as believers worry about what we eat or drink? Jesus says the birds are fed, even though they don’t sow or reap. Are we, as His people, not much more valuable than they? Why should we as believers worry about what we are wearing? Look how beautifully the flowers of the field are adorned. Are we not much more valuable than they?
The absurdity of worry for the believer can be summed up in this - if you can’t grow an inch by worrying, then don’t do it. If you can’t add length to your life by worrying, then don’t do it.
If what you want to change can’t be changed by worrying, then change what you want by not worrying but trusting.
Our heavenly Father knows our needs. He knows how to take care of His people, way more than we think we do. Oh that His people would have faithful trust in His loving hand to provide for us, in everything. May Jesus never look upon us, as He did to His disciples and say, “You of little faith.”
By faith all things are possible. By trust all things are provided. By worrying, nothing can be changed.
