Hebrews 7:24,25 - but because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

Our salvation through Christ is not a halfway, halfhearted salvation. It is complete and absolute. It is perfectly whole and without end.
As Christ laid down His life upon the cross as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind, He did not do it with the thought that He would have to do it again. This sacrifice from the only begotten of God would not be like the sacrifice of an animal which is insufficient to cleanse wholly. As Christ bled and died, it would not be the end. Christ’s resurrection to eternal life solidified irrevocably the power of God to finish the task.
Our trust and faith in Christ and the work completed on the cross gives us this same completion and eternal hope for our lives.
I’ve heard some talk about others as being saved by the skin of their teeth, as in, they barely made it. You can win a race by the skin of your teeth or by the length of your nose, but not your salvation. You can barely make a basketball shot. A boxer can almost miss the jaw of his opponent. However, you can’t barely be saved or almost not make it.
Our belief is in the permanent, absolute salvation that the Lord gives by His grace, not in the salvation that we provide by our own works and behavior. Christ saves completely, so we are saved perfectly.
