Proverbs 11:24 - One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.

It’s a mystery to logical sense. How in the world can you give freely and get more? The math doesn’t add up. How can one possibly keep what they have and have it lead to poverty? It’s a mystery, but it’s a beautiful mystery.
It’s also a universal transcendent truth. All of God’s truth’s are universal, because God the Creator is not bound by man’s religious or irreligious boundary walls. This truth of giving can be seen everywhere.
This is also the kind of math I love. Numbers and bottom lines don’t always make sense to me, but this giving equation is something I can trust. If little Billy has two apples, and he gives them away to people who are hungry and have no food, how many apples will Billy have left? The logical answer, zero. The spiritual truth - Billy will gain even more apples because he was generous. Proverbs 11:25 - “He who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.”
If little Billy were to hold on to his apples for fear that he wouldn’t have apples for the next day or two, even though he knows others are in need and hungry, how many apples will Billy have? The logical answer, two. The spiritual truth - Billy’s apples will rot because of his stinginess and selfishness.
Generosity prospers. Withholding rottens. May our heart and prayers be today, Lord, you can have all the apples I have. I give them away to you. I give them away to others. May I be as generous and compassionate and giving as you are to me.
