How much is enough? That’s a pretty loaded question. In regards to money we might think enough is never enough. When it comes to food, maybe seconds or thirds is enough. What about clothes and shoes? What about household decor or furniture? Sometimes we feel we are lacking unless, we not just have enough, but a surplus of something. And even then, it might not be enough.
It stands to reason that we think the tangible things in life is not enough, because we live in a consumer driven world. The more we have, the happier we think we are. As much as I read through God’s Word, that’s just not the lesson you learn about our dynamic relationship with God.
What we learn is that God is more than enough. He is the Creator of heaven and earth and everything we see. He is not limited by things, possessions, money, supplies, time, or anything. So, our job is not to stockpile until we think we have enough or more than enough, but to simply trust in Him to be enough for us.
That’s the case even in the intangible things of life. He is our security, our trust, our emotional fortitude, our steady endurance in frustration. He provides the grace that’s sufficient for any and everything we face. Sometimes the most difficult thing we do is letting go of the provision from our own hands and trusting in the provision from His.
How much is enough? What we know for sure is - God’s grace is enough.
